Our position
Hanoto Technology Ltd has zero tolerance for modern slavery, servitude, forced labour and human trafficking, in any form, anywhere in our business or supply chain. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Although our annual turnover is below the £36m threshold that makes a statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 mandatory, we publish this statement voluntarily because it is the right thing to do and because clients in regulated sectors expect it of their suppliers.
About our business
We are a UK technology services company based in East Sussex. We provide managed IT, cyber-security, cloud services, networking, VoIP, CCTV and backup services to small and medium businesses and to private clients across the South of England. We do not manufacture goods. Our supply chain is short and is dominated by reputable UK and global technology vendors and a small number of local subcontractors.
Our policies
- Recruitment: we verify the right to work in the UK for every employee and contractor before they start. Pay meets or exceeds the National Living Wage. We do not use unpaid internships.
- Whistleblowing: any team member can raise a concern in confidence with a director without fear of retaliation.
- Procurement: we favour suppliers who publish their own modern-slavery position and who are headquartered in jurisdictions with effective labour law.
- Code of conduct: we expect every supplier and subcontractor to operate to standards equivalent to our own.
Due diligence
We assess the risk of modern slavery in our supply chain on a risk-based approach. The bulk of our spend is with major listed technology vendors (Microsoft, Lenovo, Ubiquiti, OpenText, Datto and similar) who themselves publish detailed modern-slavery statements and audit their own supply chains. The residual risk in our chain sits with smaller subcontractors used for cabling, civils and similar work; we ask these suppliers to confirm their compliance in writing as part of onboarding.
Training and awareness
All directors and managers receive briefings on the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the indicators of labour exploitation, and are responsible for spotting and escalating concerns inside the business and at clients we work with.
Reporting concerns
If you believe modern slavery is taking place in our business or our supply chain, please tell us. Email contact@hanototechnology.com or call 01273 568533. You can also report concerns confidentially to the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700.
